Zahira in 1945 (circa) ... From primal youth...
To mellow age... The above picture- mellow age - was taken in '92, shortly before she was diagnosed with breast cancer. From this ailment she would only partially recover to live out another ten fruitful years of jihadi toil and travail, struggle and accomplishment, in gracious fulfillment of a lifelong mission in the path of serving the sick, the needy, the weak and the defenceless, among young and old, particularly among poor children, the orphaned and the widowed. For all the modesty and humility with which she served, she left us in the wake of her passage, a fund of practical wisdom to be learned from lessons crafted in a language in part mediated in the foundries of steel and iron, brick and mortar. It is in reflecting on this ONE WOMAN'S LEGACY that we are truly reminded of the proverbial truth: "And by their fruits ye shall know them..."
